I Am Me

For so long, I struggled with confidence. I believed I was fat, shy, not good enough. I felt like something was wrong with me, that I was somehow defective. The feelings of inadequacy ran deep. However, over time, many things have helped this to change and my confidence improved greatly. I could write a very long post on all the things that have helped this change occur, which include finding my identity through who my creator says I am and gaining great friendships, however, I really want to focus on the most recent tool that has helped me.

There is one phrase that I have incorporated into my vocabulary that has been a powerful weapon in the fight for improved confidence. It contains three simple words. The phrase is “I am me”.

This simple phrase is powerful for so many reasons. It reminds me not to compare myself to others. It reminds me that my strengths are just as important as my weaknesses. It reminds me to focus on the present. It reminds me to accept myself. It reminds me that I am uniquely created.

I believe that we should all incorporate “I am me” into our vocabulary. We all need to know that we don’t have to compare ourselves to others. We all need to know we are unique and special. We all need help to see ourselves in a realistic light.

My hope is that if you are struggling with confidence that you would place “I am me” into your vocabulary today!
